About
STRDeduct is tax software for short-term rental owners. It builds the books from your bank and booking platforms, logs the hours with evidence attached as they happen, and ends the year with a binder that shows every figure, the rule behind it, and the proof under it.
Who writes this
Max Medvedev — Founder, STRDeduct. Builds STRDeduct's tax engine — the code that computes the average-stay test, the participation tests, depreciation, and the loss limits, with a citation attached to every number.
That is a builder’s role, not a credential. Nobody here is a CPA, an enrolled agent, or a tax attorney, and this site never says otherwise. What is on offer is precision about how the rules work and openness about where every number comes from — decisions stay with you and your own professional.
Why you can check the work
Every figure the software produces carries a trace: the rule applied, the inputs it saw, and the citations behind it. The method page is generated from that same engine rather than written as marketing copy, so what it describes and what runs cannot drift apart. The estimator is free and opens each number into the rule behind it.
What this is not
Not advice, and not a promise about an outcome. The word used here is defensible: records kept the way the case law rewards, with the evidence attached at the moment the work happened. The full detail is on the disclaimers page.
